Play Minecraft Online for Free
Hey guys, I'm going to show you how to get Minecraft for free and play online, straight from your browser. The first thing you need to do is visit Minecraft For Free X, which offers the full version of the game that you can automatically download onto your computer with minimal configuration. Just follow the instructions on the site.
Before You Play
Let me just tell you that you'll need to make sure your computer has a couple things before you start playing. First of all, you're going to need to check to see if your computer has Java installed. The quickest way to do this is to go to Java.com and then download the latest version of Java. Their site will notify you if you do not have it installed, or will start a download automatically. Either way, you will then have the latest version of Java, which is the most important thing.
Next, you're going to need to allow Java to load on your browser. After you agree to the rules, and click continue, you should see a little Minecraft icon and then your browser should ask you if you want to let Java run, or something like that. Just make sure your browser has permission to allow Java (or Java plugin).
Finally, you'll need to go to the Java Control Panel and add a few entries to the list. This part is required since Java used to be exploited like crazy within the past few years, and this aggressive security blocking feature is a consequence. Don't worry, whitelisting certain sites won't leave you susceptible to Java exploits since only the sites will be allowed to automatically run the Java code. To get to the control panel, if you are on Windows, search for "configure java" and click on the first result. For Mac, click the apple icon, "system preferences" and then Java.
Whitelist these entries:
To play online, you'll need to choose a username, find a server, and register your account on it. To change your username, click on the icon at the top left corner of the game and enter a new username. Afterwards, the game will restart and your new username will be chosen. At this point, it's advised to search a Minecraft servers list for a good 1.5.2 server with lots of players. Once you find one, enter Multiplayer and add the server's IP. Connect to it and register your account by verifying your password like this:
/register password password
Once you do that, your account will be registered and there's no need to verify your e-mail or anything like that. Sometimes the server will require you to login with this command:
You should read the server rules and try to be active in the community forums if you like the server. This will help you get better at the game, have more fun, and make some friends along the way.
If my instructions weren't clear enough, here's a pretty good video showing you how to do all of this.
